About ODYS

We're building the infrastructure for the music underground.

ODYS was born out of a shared frustration with the current state of the music industry - and a belief that music communities deserve better tools to connect, grow, and thrive.

Why we exist

Music deserved better.

Talented artists were going from gig to gig while their music racked up thousands of streams and paid them almost nothing. Streaming giants kept cutting payouts. And the platforms meant to connect people around music were doing the opposite.

01

Algorithms are killing real discovery.

Mainstream platforms optimize for engagement, not culture. Underground artists and niche scenes get buried under content engineered to go viral.

02

There's no community between events.

The energy from a night out disappears the next morning. There's no place for the community to live between shows - no shared identity, no lasting connection.

03

Tickets die the moment you use them.

A ticket should be more than entry - it should be the start of a relationship between fans, artists, and communities. Right now it's just a receipt.

ODYS

Our story

Started in Berlin.
Built for everywhere.

2024

The idea

ODYS was born out of a shared frustration with the current state of the music industry. We saw talented artists struggling to make a living while their music racked up thousands of streams. So we asked: how can this be sustainable for artists, fans, and platforms alike?

2025

Building in public

We started building ODYS - sounds fancy, but it was a lot of pivot or persevere moments, legal work, coding and getting feedback. We combined the social power of music with a better ecosystem, hoping that it will enable people to connect and thrive.

2026

Beta is going live

Today, ODYS is live in beta. Events, digital badges, group chats, and a curated feed - all built for the underground music community, starting in Berlin and expanding from there.

What we believe

Built on conviction,
not compromise.

01

Artist-first, always.

Every product decision starts with one question: does this make life better for artists? We prioritize creator rights and fair compensation in everything we build.

02

Owned, not rented.

Your community, your badges, your connections - they belong to you, not the platform. We use technology to give ownership back to the people who build the culture.

03

Community over algorithm.

Music is a shared experience. We build tools for real human connection - not engagement metrics engineered to keep you scrolling.

04

Zero platform fees. Full stop.

We use technology as a means, not a moat. Anyone can use ODYS - no prior knowledge required. Accessible by design, powerful by default.

The team

The people building it.

Two founders obsessed with music, technology, and building something that actually makes a difference for artists and fans.

Andrea Schmid

Co-Founder & CEO

Andrea Schmid

After first hearing about Web3, the next question was: Why am I only hearing about this now? Coming from the music business side, Andrea dove deep into understanding Web3, exploring its potential in music - until ODYS was born.

Joël Wäger

Co-Founder & CTO

Joël Wäger

Working in tech and studying cybersecurity, Joël always had a deep passion for electronic music. When he heard the idea for ODYS, he was all in - skillfully making Web3 concepts accessible and turning the vision into reality.

Mateo Munevar

Head of Community

Mateo Munevar

A DJ and long-time friend of Andrea and Joël, Mateo joined ODYS in 2025 and took over the online presence of platform on social media. Now he expanded into creating events and building the spaces where the scene actually lives.
